3 Genre Reflection

My reflection of the creation of my three genres is that I wanted all of them to be different. Since the first genre that I created was based originally from my rhetorical paper, I decided I wanted it to be consistent with the theme of the paper which was domestic violence. The flyer was simple and also did not include much information of the tv show. But it got the point across of domestic violence is not acceptable. My second genre, I chose to do something with a theme opposite of the flyer. Since the flyer was more a bad perception of the couple, I chose to make a more positive perception of them with my second genre. I wanted to modernize Alice and Ralph so that their marriage was made to look like an actual couple in 2019. There are many couples on Youtube that have a channel and make videos for entertainment and as work. While I was thinking about what I wanted to do for my genres, a video of a Youtube couple popped up on my Instagram timeline and I instantly decided it would be a good idea to create a couples channel for Alice and Ralph. At first I was planning on making an actual Youtube page, but then I would have had to create emails and needed an in service phone number to create it. Which was impossible since my number is already in use with my gmail. So I decided I would just use photoshop to put their faces and names on someone else’s channel. I wanted it to be as realistic as possible so I chose a channel with a lot of subscribers and views to make it seem as Alice and Ralph are very popular in the Youtube world. However, my last genre creation was also different just like I intended it to be. I created a blog that was supposedly created by Alice. I was watching a show and it was just people talking about how they stayed married for so long and that gave me the idea that I could somehow use that since her and Ralph was married for 12 years on the show. That’s when I decided giving Alice the spotlight and just having her be the creator of a blog on how she kept her husband and marriage content. I created the blog using posts that I came up with myself while thinking about how a married woman in the 70’s would feel is the best way to keep a successful marriage. I also only used black and white pictures to make it seem more of an older blog instead of using colored pictures and not seem like it was created during the 70’s. For the posts the context I wrote was mostly how I thought a woman back then would try to teach maybe other younger woman what qualities men look for in a woman and what to expect when they get married. I think these were the most creative projects I did in awhile since high school and I was surprised of the end results.
